Privacy & GDPR at Acorn Pharmacy Huntingdon

This website is an information-only shop window for Acorn Pharmacy Huntingdon. We don't collect personal or health details through it. This notice explains the limited data the site itself uses and how to get in touch about the wider pharmacy records we hold.

About this notice

This privacy notice covers this website only. No bookings, consultations or prescription requests are completed through the site. NHS services are arranged in person or over the phone, and private services are booked through an external patient management system.

Who we are

Acorn Pharmacy Huntingdon ("we", "us", "our") is a community pharmacy registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and based at Oak Tree Centre, 1 Oak Dr, Huntingdon PE29 7HN. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

What this website collects

The site has no forms, accounts or booking flow. The only data it handles is:

  • Essential cookies — a single preference cookie that remembers your choice on the cookie banner.
  • Standard server logs — IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
  • Anonymous usage analytics — our hosting platform records aggregated pageview counts (including which pages are visited and which "Book now" buttons are clicked) so we can understand which services are of interest. This is not linked to your name, contact details or any health information, and is not used for advertising or profiling.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party marketing trackers or personal analytics profiles, and we do not ask you to enter your name, address, NHS number or any health information on this website.

Bookings and patient data

No patient or health data is collected, stored or processed by this website. When you choose to book a private appointment, you are taken to our booking provider Cliniko (Red Guava Ltd) — either via an external link or an embedded booking window. Any details you enter (name, contact details, appointment information) are submitted directly to Cliniko under their own privacy terms; this website never sees, stores or transmits that information.

NHS services, prescription queries and clinical advice are handled in person, by phone or by email — never through this website.

Third-party embeds

The site includes two embedded third-party services. They are only loaded on the pages where they appear, and they may set their own cookies when you interact with them:

We do not share any information with these providers ourselves — any data they receive comes from your direct interaction with their embed.

How we use this information

The limited data above is used only to:

  • Remember your cookie preference so the banner does not reappear.
  • Keep the website online, secure and working correctly.

If you choose to email or call us, we use those details only to reply to you.

Our lawful basis

For website use, we rely on:

  • Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests, to keep the site secure and functional.
  • PECR — strictly necessary cookies do not require consent; we still ask before setting any non-essential storage.

The lawful bases that apply to pharmacy and clinical records (such as Article 6(1)(e) for NHS services and Article 9(2)(h) for health data) are explained at the point of service, not through this website.

Who we share it with

We do not share website data with any third party for marketing or profiling. Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf under a standard data-processing agreement. The third-party embeds listed above receive only what you submit directly to them. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

The cookie preference is stored in your browser until you clear it. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short period (typically up to 30 days) for security and diagnostic purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used.
  • Request a copy of the information we hold (subject access request).
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request erasure where there is no legal reason for us to keep it.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies needed to remember your cookie preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
